Descent 22 is Descending back in
Descent 22, our birthday beer has come into rotation for another winter. This year’s imperial stout has been aged in foeder barrels for 6 months. This time spent in barrels has allowed the immersion of vanilla, oak and wild yeast characters that combine with the roasty, bitter, black malt leather-like esters to complete this winter warmer. The beer is held in high esteem for Richard and Tracy, who chose this style of beer as a celebration to their hard work and a way to create and share something special with the community, followers and lovers of bent beers. The beer is a 10% stout that feels like starting a downhill descent into the unknown.
Richard Watkins, our head brewer and co-owner said, “It’s amazing to think that it’s already been 8 years since we opened the doors in Braddon, we’re just so excited that our doors are still open and welcoming everyone who enjoys drinking bent beers”. Tracy Margrain, Brewer and co-founder thinks, “The great thing about brewing an imperial stout is that we get to use aged beer from the previous years birthday, it’s a great way to reflect on the year that has been and celebrate the year to come with our staff and loyal draughters”.
This year we will be celebrating at our BrewPub on Sunday the 5th of June from 12.00pm to 6.00pm. We’ll have live and local music, cake cutting at 2.00pm, and Rich & Tracy will say a few words and talk us through a tasting of this years Descent 22.
You’ll be able to find Descent 22 on our online shop and our BrewPub starting from Sunday the 5th of June. Then rolling out into all good bottle shops across the east coast. Check out our beer finder on our website to find a stockist near you. This beer will be drifting out, as it’s a limited edition and only available from our Birthday, the 6th of June until it runs out.
